Sundowner Investments Limited is a wholly Zambian Registered Company, Incorporated in 1994.
It started off with 7 employees, and now employs about 30 persons directly, and another 50 or more indirectly.
Vitanda Street Plant Ndola
Sundowner Investments are the Sole Agents for African Distillers Ltd., Zimbabwe, and hold a licence to Blend, bottle and sell several of African Distillers’ products – Gilberts Gin, Admirals and Baccarat Rums, Nikolai Vodka, and Montello Jeripego.
The Company also Blends, and Bottles its own Sundowner Products – Special Reserve and Vintage Gold Brandies, Kremlin Vodka, 3 Crowns Gin, Blackbeards Rum and Desert Island Cane.
In 1998, the Company purchased a complete Blending and Bottling Plant, including 4 x 7000Litre and 1 x 4,000Litre Holding Tanks. It then acquired all the necessary machinery – pumps, tanks, filters, alcoholmeters, colour comparator, thermometers etc.
As the Company continued to grow, more people were employed.
London Dry Gin
Sundowner Investments supplies Shoprite Checkers and Pick ‘n’ Pay – all their Stores Nationwide – with our Locally produced products.
In 2008, the Company purchased another complete Bottling, Capping, Sealing and Labelling machine from Italy, as Demand had far outstripped Supply.
In order to keep up with Production demands, the Company invested in a Water Purification Plant, a Reverse Osmosis System, to supply its Blending operations.
Vintage Gold Superior Brandy
In September 2011 the Company purchased a larger, 4000 b/h Washing, Bottling, Capping, Sealing and Labelling machine to run alongside the other Bottling lines.
Four delivery vehicles are used to market our products country wide; besides these vehicles, reliable local Transporters are used to carry loads from 4 to 15 Tons.
The Annual Turnover of this Company has increased from K 2 Billion in 2005 to K 8.5 Billion in 2011.
